Master Gun Workstation®

This is a really nice comprehensive workstation for most of your long barrel Pew Pew ers. There are many customizable adjustments that you can really dial this in for just the right fit. The legs can be raised and lowered to achieve perfect level while you work and swt up scopes and sights. The part that grips the stock also has 6° of micro adjustment so you can really get your optics perfect. The feet of this a re very sticky as long as you have it on a very smooth surface. I a big fan of any Real Avid products and as usual this tool does not dissapoint. I'm super happy with this workstation.

I have used this workstation after two different range sessions now and I love it! Real Avid is a brand that I have been using for years now and this is a super well thought out and easy to use workstation, just like all of their products are. Had no issues using for several of my rifles, from an older Winchester Model 61 to a current AR15. It holds the rifle securely and leaves no mars or marks! Plenty of extra space for existing tools as well as some real avid branded tools such as cleaning rods!

If you are anything like me, you work on your firearms by squeezing it between your legs to hold it in place and are constantly fighting for a better position as you're trying to screw things down (or take off) and keep it steady at the same time. Well, no more with the Real Avid Master Workstation! Real Avid introduced this earlier this year at Shot Show 2023 in Las Vegas and finally released it to the public and I was so excited to try this out.This thing is pretty cool. It came properly packaged and protected with Styrofoam inside to hold all the pieces in place so as not to damage each other. I read a previous review from someone who said theirs came scuffed/scratched and looked like it had been previously used so while I wasn't too concerned, I still had some trepidation that mine might show up like that. I'm happy to report that is not the case as mine came brand new.You get the workbench with all of its pieces, an Allen wrench w/two screws (for trigger clamp assembly) and instructions. Putting it together was super simple and easy. And when I mean easy, it was maybe 5-10 minutes worth of effort. Other than the trigger clamp, everything just snaps into place. You do have to screw in the feet but that's just a matter of lining up the screw holes and guide rod and using the red screw knobs on top to screw them down. Its definitely not rocket science.The feet also have options where you can just rest it on your workbench, bolt it down or use clamps to hold it in place. For the latter two options you'll have to provide the bolts or the clamps yourself. If you're just resting it on your workbench like I am, the feet also have pads that grip to the surface so it doesn't move at all. Very nice.The entire bench has a nice, solid and weighty feel too it. However, it's not that heavy as it's a combination of metal and plastic. The parts don't feel cheap, IMO, despite the presence of plastic. It seems to be a good combination of both steel and plastic. It can't be all metal or it would simply be too heavy. On the bench itself, you get a bunch of storage areas for your tools, parts and whatnot and anything that may fall while your working just falls right into the metal bottom tray, which itself has grooves and fabrication to hold parts or catch an oil or cleaning solution so you don't mess up your bench.The yoke has padding that not only wraps around your barrel/handguard to help secure it in place but also protects it as the padding is soft and malleable. Not only can the yoke move back and forth depending upon the length of your firearm, but also it is adjustable up and down by simply clicking the red button and moving it to your preferred height.The trigger clamp allows you to lock down and secure the rifle so it doesn't move. It also has foam pads to secure and protect your stock. I was able to secure my shotgun down with the clamp and then I picked the entire bench up by the shotgun and the bench lifted right up with it and didn't loose grip it all. The trigger clamp also has a leveling knob for scope mounting allowing you to move the rifle 3 degrees in either direction just in case you need it. VERY nice touch! Of course, on a shotgun like I have it's not something I would probably use, but for you other rifle owners out there this is very cool feature to have.One other thing this has is a moveable grey shuttle in the middle of the rails that allows you to add accessories. Specifically, Real Avid's SMART-ASSIST‚Ñ¢ ACCESSORY SYSTEM which has not been released yet but will be soon. With that, you get a light, a magnifying glass and a phone holder. Note: whenever you adjust your yoke back and forth this shuttle moves along with it - it's not stuck in place (that's good).One other cool feature about this is that you can change the configuration 180 degrees by simply switching the vice clamp and yoke. So for you left-handed people out there this will work for you too. Simply pop out and swap sides with the trigger clamp and tool storage (read the directions). Also, this will work if you like your barrels facing a certain way. Although I'm right-handed, I like my barrels facing to my right with the chamber facing towards me. Again, you can set this up in whatever configuration suits you best.You can go on YouTube and watch reviews of this to get an idea of what all of it's features are or you can visit Real Avid's product page where they also have a video.Anyways, I'm very happy with this now that I have something to secure and hold down my shotgun while I work on it, whether I'm cleaning or adjusting the red dot.

Works well if you need extra hands on ARs

(See my video review as well for a full walkthrough.)Overall, this is a very good (and useful!) workstation. The only thing it won't supplant is an actual vise, which is something you'd need if you were drilling or milling parts - and that is rarely needed. For everything else, this workstation is good to go.It's basically a foam-lined stock vise on one end, and a grippy rubber forend cradle on the other. These secure your rifle well enough to do things like optic installation, cleaning, adjustment, scope leveling, etc. There is a tiny amount of wiggle in the forend cradle, which is why I say this workstation doesn't quite take the place of an actual vise.Each foot is non-slip and height adjustable, so you can level the whole workstation. The feet also have holes, so they can be bolted down. There's a sliding tray which is mildly magnetic, and has holes to put extra accessories in (I don't have any of those add-ons) but even without those, it works well to hold little screws or whatnots that may otherwise try to run away.There are numerous slots for tools/bits/cleaning jags, and the whole thing has a painted metal base that will keep fluids contained and off of your floor.I quite like it overall, and it makes tasks much easier than just trying to hold your rifle still in one hand while you awkwardly fiddle some tools with the other. In my mind, this workstation fills the role of "third and fourth hands" to tackle firearm tasks. It seems well enough made for its purpose.It will hold ARs as well as hunting-style rifles, and adjusts to fit.Summary: good for anything but precision metal drilling/milling. Makes 99% of tasks much easier and will pay for itself in saved frustration after a few jobs.

This is a really good workstation for working your bolt actions rifles, scope mounting and some other maintenance work that you need your rifle to be steady. It is really easy to assemble and holds the rifle really well once secured. The quality of the bench is really good and is lightweight which allows for easy transportation. It can also be secured to a desk with bolts in case that is needed. Really good bench but the price could be just a little bit lower considering the many plastic elements it uses. Apart from that is a really good bench and I do recommend it.

I'm quite pleased with the build quality, not cheaply made. Has a lot of adjustment options that will help with whatever task there is at hand.

Expensive mistake. The rack would not hold my son's rifle. No matter how he tried to position it, it slipped out of alignment. So now I get to return it.
It cost $94 to return. Oh, and they will deduct the original cost of shipping from my return.
$200 orig cost - $100 return shipping - original shipping = $40?....

Have only used it once so far, but it was nice to not have to try and juggle parts and tools while trying to hold the firearm also.

This gun workstation is awesome and excellent. The minus 1 star is because it would get 10 stars if it only had an attachable lower receiver magwell block that could slide along like the Smart Assist accesorie tray.

Great product!

I love this thing! It's sturdier than my Tipton and secures the weapon much better. Adjustments are easy and very accommodating. Pair it with the Smart Assist kit, and it's the best I've ever owned. Scope mounting is a breeze.

Top notch tools at a nice price point. Works just as advertised.

Initial quality is great. Assembly instructions were straightforward. Initial use was to mount a scope. I am very pleased with this product.

works just as i expected!

I used my Master Gun Station while I mounted and bore sighted my son's 22 magnum. I will be retiring the old Tipton and Proudly displaying my new Master Gun Station in my Gunsmithing business. Everybody needs this or your already behind in your workflow possibilities.

Could not be happier with this purchase. Excellent quality and design. Going to really help with cleaning and modding. Recommended product for sure.
