Kit is easy to use and works well

The last time I mounted my scope to my hunting rifle I used almost a full box of ammo just to get on paper. This time I used this Real Avid Scope Kit and it has been an absolute game changer! Here's what I like and don't like about this kit:****************************************************LIKES*Complete- you literally get everything you could possibly need to mount a new scope onto a rifle and get it sighted in to 25 yards. Aside from the custom components like the reticle flashlight and targeting tripod, you also get a torque wrench and various bits that you can use for mounting the actual scope rings.*Quality- all of the components are high quality and well made. The tripod that holds the reflector sheet in front of the scope is a little flimsy, but it doesn't need to be robust, and it worked so I didn't have a problem with it.*Easy- when you first open the box, it looks complicated, but when you follow the setup instructions it's all really easy to get your scope dialed in using the included components.*Rechargeable - I like that the flashlight is rechargeable.*Instructions- the kit comes with an instruction manual that does a great job of explaining all of the setup and steps required to get your scope sighted in.*Bore Sight- the kit even comes with a magnetic laser bore sight that sticks to the front of the barrel, letting you know if you're going to be on paper when you look through the scope. I set it up in my house looking down a hallway and it was spot on when I went to the range. Getting it dialed in from there was easy.*Versatile - works with everything from my hunting rifle all the way down to my pellet rifle.*Value- at $189.47 at the time of this review, I think this is a great deal considering the added safety and cost savings that this kit gives you.****************************************************DISLIKES*Laser batteries - I wish the laser bore sight was rechargeable along with the flashlight.*Flashlight Brightness - I mounted a fairly higher magnification scope and although I could use the flashlight to see the projected image of the reticle, it was VERY faint and I had to turn off all the lights in order to see it. I wish the flashlight was a bit brighter and it would have made it a lot easier. Even still, it worked great.****************************************************Overall I'm extremely happy with this mounting kit and I would definitely recommend it!

There's a lot to like about this kit!First and foremost, if you were to buy each of the items separately, you likely end up spending a lot more for similar quality products.Within the kit is everything you need to get your scope properly mounted, leveled, torqued, and ready for sighting. I was seriously impressed with the torque driver that's included- it feels rugged, is easy to read and adjust, and has an extra handle for those times when you need a bit more leverage. You even get a bit set/holder.The reticle leveling system is also great, even down to the rechargeable flashlight that is included!I have mixed feelings about the laser bore sight. Though I found the laser to be reasonably bright (I usually only use them at dusk for decent visibility), it is big and heavy. I think it would have been better to go with a conical design on the mounting end so that it could slide into the barrel and center itself- as designed, you have to align it on the barrel end yourself.The only other improvement opportunity that I see would be to include a case instead of a cardboard box. Other than that, another solid product from Real Avid!

I recently purchased this Real Avid scope mounting kit to help me with my rifle scope mounting and boresighting needs. As someone who enjoys spending time at the range and on hunting trips, I wanted to ensure that my rifle scope was properly installed and aligned for maximum accuracy. I was drawn to this set because of its comprehensive nature and the positive reviews it had received.Upon receiving the set, I was impressed with the quality of the materials and the attention to detail in the packaging. The set includes a scope leveling kit, gunsmithing torque wrench, and a green laser bore sight, as well as several other useful tools. The scope leveling component of the kit comprises a rechargeable flashlight with two mounts, a tripod, and a grid pattern target that attaches to the tripod. Everything was neatly organized, which made it easy to transport and store. I wish it would include a plastic carrying case for storage and transportation, but unfortunately it does not.Setting up the tools for use was straightforward, and the instructions included in the package were clear and easy to follow. To use it, you need to attach the flashlight to the rifle itself in front of the scope that's already mounted on your rifle to project the scope's reticle through the eyepiece. The light shines through the eyepiece of the scope and onto the alignment grid target that you have to place behind the scope. The flashlight mount and target have bubble levels built in to assist in getting the scope as close to the level of the rifle as possible. Overall, the kit worked well. The scope leveling kit was particularly helpful in ensuring that my scope was mounted correctly, and the torque wrench made it easy to tighten the screws to the appropriate level.The set also includes a green laser bore sight that attaches to the muzzle of the gun via a magnet. Unfortunately, there is no way to ensure that the laser is aligned with the barrel, and it could be off-center. The manufacturer claims that the laser is easy to see in bright sunlight, but I found it difficult to see with fresh batteries at less than 20 yards on an overcast day. Needless to say, I was not impressed with the laser bore sight and replaced it with a better one from another manufacturer.Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase of this Real Avid scope mounting kit. It has made my rifle scope mounting and boresighting tasks much easier and more accurate, which has increased my confidence when out in the field. Despite the useless bore sight, the combined price of the kit's three parts is a good deal, as it is like getting the bore sight for free. Also, I suggest that the alignment grid target could be mounted on a wall for more stability. Lastly, I recommend using a good quality vice to mount your long guns while using the scope leveling kit. It is particularly important that the gun remains still and steady while adjusting the scope and locking it down with the included torque driver.*** TL;DR ***The Real Avid Scope Mounting Gunsmithing Tools Set is a comprehensive and high-quality tool set for scope mounting and boresighting. It includes a scope leveling kit, gunsmithing torque wrench, and green laser bore sight. The set is easy to set up and use, and the tools are well-designed for maximum accuracy. The set is a bit pricey, but I believe it's worth the investment for anyone who is serious about achieving optimal accuracy with their rifle scope. My only real complaint about this kit is that the bore sight is useless. I'd love to give it 5 stars, but I have to give it 4 stars because of this. This kit for alignment is perfect. Literally gets your crosshairs, nice and straight. I have not used the bore site yet but if it's as easy as this site alignment is, I am sure this will work out great. The torque crunch worked great you get a nice torque sound when you reach your torque setting good grips and if you leave more leverage, it comes with the side handle, which is Nice. And come with two adapters, one for rails and one for rifle barrels so you get a nice alignment on either Rifle. The flashlight is pretty bright as you can see. I was working in an area that had light coming in and I can still see the crosshairs on the board.

I mounted the scope on my sons 22 magnum and aligned the cross hairs. Also, I made sure that everything was torqued properly. We then bore sighted and test fired at 25 yards. We were at 1/2-inch MOA at 25 yards. Great product and a Great Addition to Gunsmithing business.

It is exactly as described, still need to use the bore sight but all my hunting scopes were rechecked and good to go.

The bore sighted sits on the muzzle and you need to do your best to get it centered. It greatly affects how close you get on target. I was disappointed with that and the poor magnet adherence.

worked great just took me a while to figure out but as soon as hit the range i was making 2in groupings.

This kit was very easy to use. It's accurate at 25 yards. Not bad at all.

This Real Avid AVMSMK kit is one of the most complete scope mounting a bore sighting kits I have ever used. There is a lot in this kit and the individual parts are great quality. For example, the reticle projection light could be provided with instructions to add some batteries but in this kit the light contains a USB rechargeable battery. The included driver is not just a driver but a force assist driver for higher precision. All the bits you should need are included. This is an extensive kit at a very reasonable price.

The leveling rig is very nice as well as the torque driver. The board site is not my favorite one and I actually already have one it was purchased as a separate unit. The problem is there is no auger on the boresight to ensure that it is centered on the barrel. I was able to use a boresight that does have an auger with the other two pieces of equipment. This kit has everything you need to precisely level your scope.Honestly many people are just going to need the leveling rig. I already have like I said many different bore sites and torque drivers. So if you have those you might just want to buy that one piece separately. But I will say it's quite a kit and you save a decent bit of money buying them all together like this. I really wish Real Avid would do something about that board side of theirs though. They seem really proud of it and possibly unaware of his shortcomings.All in all though, particularly if you're starting out and you don't have a lot of tools this is a pretty good deal. The build quality is decent on all the parts. I've had mixed results with this company as some of their stuff is absolutely fantastic and others seem unnecessarily cheap. Except the price is never cheap. But I think if you're looking for all these things separately this is a safe bet. You may still want to get a better bore sight however.

I like the RA torque wrench and the leveling gear in this kit, it's good quality and generally works well to level a scope easily. The torque screw driver is awesome it's well made, has a great design and gets the right/correct torque for scope rings/mounts etc. My only issue is with the bore sight. At first I was optimistic the design would be effective in helping get on target easily and quickly, unfortunately that isn't the case the design seems flawed as there is not good (accurate) way to get the bore sight perfectly or really accurately centered on the muzzle and if the barrels muzzle end or crown isn't flat with a wide even surface area, as a lot of hunting rifles have domed (rounded) crowns and a domed muzzle crown has minimal surface area for a magnet to work with. My issue (on multiple rifles) was both getting the bore sight to stay magnetized on the minimal surface area and/or it not being able to be perfectly aligned for any kind of confident accuracy. To be fair I think the build quality and general design of the bore sight is good. I think a bit of forethought in terms of different muzzle ends compatibilities with the sight would have made this kit 5 stars.

The only thing about this set is that it's a pretty professional tool and I'm a novice. it will take some education for me to use it properly but, wow, it's really a nice set so I'm looing forward to using it.I just made a video showing what all comes with it and I didn't even know what the parts were for so my apologies but if you're a pro, you won't have a problem identifying what's in it.

Just as described. Lower cost than in sporting goods store

I love the concept, and it does a professional job of aligning the scope, my original alignment was off by an 1/8 of an inch. I gave it 4 stars because I had 2 issues. The first was the light system that goes in front of the scope, it did not have an M-Loc adapter for the guard. And the second was the bore alignment light attaches to the barrel with a magnet and my barrel is stainless steel which doesn't work. So, I had to tape the scope light assembly and put a support under the barrel bore light. Otherwise I love it.

The torque wrench and scope alignment tools in this kit are flawlessly designed and work fabulously. The bore sight function is OK but it puts a lot of faith in the users ability to center it perfectly on the crown of the muzzle. The bore sight device is held on magnetically and does not use the bore or chamber for alignment. That said, it still placed me on the paper at 25 yards. I'd highly recommend this kit to any buyer, regardless of skill level.

Better if the light were brighter but definitely enough to get your set-up right.
